How to hang the Aurora

We provide double sided tape to hang the Aurora with. This makes things easy, although there are some general guidelines for use:

  • Make sure the surface is clean and dry before hanging the Aurora
  • Do not use with wallpaper.
  • May not adhere well to vinyl surfaces.
  • Do not hang the Aurora over beds.
  • Do not hang Aurora on a ceiling with double-sided tape

Ideal operating temperatures: Apply to surfaces above 50°F (10°C). Adhesive could lose adhesion above 105°F (40°C).

Can you confirm the 3M Command Strips you recommend? Small, Medium or Large.

Hi there, We provide the medium 3M command strips in our packaging, but have also have alternative 3M tape in some of the new packaging which is the 3M 4032 adhesive. Additionally, we have screw mounts in the works. Check our product roadmap for more details https://nanoleaf.me/en/our-story/your-future/

So all the videos showing the tape with the tab to take if off aren't accurate anymore?
How do we remove them with the 3m tape if there are no tab?

I was also confused by the video as I have received the alternative 3M tape with my Aurora. According to the 3M website, this 4032 adhesive is for permanent bonding. I assume I should purchase the 3M Command Strips if I would like to be able to remove the Aurora? Thanks.

@Alexandre Thanks for your message, correct. We decided to go through the new tape as it provided a better quality tape than the previous version.

@Alexandre and @James You can always go with the 3M command tape for this, but if you would like to stick with the current tape, I would just recommend applying a bit of heat for ~10-15 seconds and then slowly removing using a sharp blade for best practices.

Mounting is always a tricky situation as there are so many different surfaces, and we went with this for the best quality tape to solve this. That being said, we are always looking to improve and we certainly value your feedback on the process. Feel free to reach out directly to feedback@nanoleaf.me about this.

    Thanks!
