The Nanoleaf Essentials devices only have a factory reset mechanism. This resets all user pairing and network information. This is performed differently between bulbs and light strips. “Turn off/on” refers to physically powering on/off the device with a switch.
Bulb (A19)
Turn off, wait for 3 seconds, turn back on for no more than 3 seconds. Repeat for a total of 5 power cycles. Bulb will flash red three times if successful.
Light Strip
Hold the power and brightness up (+) buttons on the controller for 5 seconds. Note that these buttons must be pressed simultaneously - pressing one and then the other after and holding will not work. This is by design so that it’s more difficult to accidentally trigger a reset. The strip will flash white three times if successful.

I have following the guide to reset my Nanoleaf Essentials A60 | E27 bulb but still fail to connect in App. The bulb only flash red light one time.
Any ideas?
I have exactly the same problem and no solution.
Same problem here, too. Did any of you find out what the issue was/is?
I had the exact same problem with my A19 bulb (single red flash, rather than the three red flashes) and followed up with Nanoleaf technical support, providing a video.
The solution was due to a subtlety in the factory reset instructions: You have to start from 'off', switch on for less than one second, then immediately off again for at least three seconds. Repeat this five times and leave switched on at the fifth switch on.
So this:
off(3s) -> on(<1s) -> off(3s) -> on(<1s) -> off(3s) -> on(<1s) -> off(3s) -> on(<1s) -> off(3s) -> on(leave on) -> three red flashes -> bulb switches itself off and then back on again.
That worked for me first time. I then deleted the bulb from my app and re-added by scanning the QR code and it's been working since then.
Hope that helps!
Found out this article is NOT the way to reset your A19 bulb. As Tim Chapman said, when you reach out to Nanoleaf, they’ll provide you with a video which states to start turned off, and keep it on for less than one second, not three! This was the mistake I was doing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPad4fDq2iA&t=155s Is the YouTube video at the part where you can reset it. You can follow the video whilst doing it (which is what I did) and hey presto it worked.
