Shapes turn themselves off/on frequently

I am having the same thing happen, randomly turning on or off.

Sometimes it will be in quick succession so only a few seconds before it returns to the state it was in originally, but other times I've woke up in the morning to find they've turned on during the night.

I have no scheduling set up and have a reliable network (enterprise level hardware) so don't think its due to connection issues.

The lights always respond to turning them back on off without issue, but the random behaviour is frustrating.

I do have exactly the same issue and that's frustrating indeed...

21 panels turning on and off atg a total random schedule even after a hard reset..

I noticed there was a firmware update and upgraded. Its now two days without them turning on/off, so hopefully thats all it was.

I am still getting panels switching color for a few seconds randomly. Always just a single panel, but random which one.
Not a major issue for me because it just changes from soft white to cool white, but still annoying.

Is anyone still having this problem. Mine have been turning off and on randomly and always to full brightness when I never run them that bright. Its been happening every night and they are in my bedroom so its been very obnoxious. Im running the latest version as far as I know and have tried a soft reset already as well as restarting my router. Any help would be great.

I'm also having this problem. I have the shape mini triangle also mixed with the larger triangle.

They turn on and off ranomly, there a group of panels that dont change color. the animation freezes on them. Sometimes i cant turn them on or off, neet to turn the power off to them.

I've tried a soft reset and a hard reset, no luck. If anyone else is having problems or knows a fix I would love to hear from someone.

Yes, I'm also having the same problem. I have them behind my computer monitor and they light up as I'm working - or just at random times. There's no real pattern to it.

So, Nanoleaf Support helped me on this issue:

Just switch off all touch controls, as they could be affected by wind, shadows or even water-pipes inside the wall.

This fixed the issue on my end.

    Hope that helps! :)

I’ve only have this new canvas since December. I own one already which works perfectly fine however this new one consistently turns itself on and off as and when it likes I’ve done everything including the firmware update turning off touch controls rearranging panels Nanoleaf even sent me out to new control panels, and I bought a new power plug hoping this would resolve the issue however the Canvas still turns itself on and off when it wants.

pleases say there is a fix or a reason for this happening so it can be resolved

This appears to be related to over-sensitive capacitive touch buttons on the controller wedge.  I have noticed that when the air is humid in my home (~53%) or very dry (~33%) my Nanoleaf lights frequently turn themselves on or (usually) off.  I need to monitor the humidity more closely to figure out what the trigger is, but I know that my finger can be within 2-4mm of the power button and have it turn off/on without actually touching the plastic surface.  Capacitive touch is cute and adds a modern touch to designs by eliminating mechanical switches, but it's inappropriate for use in many designs.  It doesn't work reliably for cars, for kitchen appliances, or apparently for this.  My hope is that there's a touch sensitivity feature being considered for the software that will alleviate this problem by adding a small sample delay requirement to establish if a press is really human or not.  Just another testing oversight...since no one hires software testers anymore.

It's so annoying! This has been bothering me for months. I love the panels, but the software, the connectivity issues, the wall mounting. Makes me dislike the product so much. Even more so the lack of acknowledgement on this helpdesk.

Why the fuck do my panels trip out day and night. Spend so much for a half finished product.

Places like this don't hire software testers anymore - it's easier and much cheaper to inflict half-baked crap on your customers than it is to actually pay to properly test it before release.  Seems like their only response to this is to turn off touch.  For me, that fixes 90% of the misbehavior - but it still happens, and that's because the control buttons on the control wedge are also capacitive-touch.  Great tech when used appropriately, but it's not successful here.  I'm highly annoyed that Nanoleaf's only reply is to "turn off the feature".  That's great.  Maybe we can turn off the whole damn thing because it doesn't work right, too, since it's obviously the customer's fault.

Having the same issue.  Suddenly the lights just turn off without warning.  They could run all day and not do it...or it happens within minutes.  I also can't disable touch controls which is odd...

Yep, still same issue; randomly turn on and off in the middle of the night and wake me up. I have tested the air humidity though; left my window slightly open and it seemed to reduce the issue, although still didn't eliminate it entirely. Shouldn't have to leave my window open for some lights to function properly, though

Okay has anyone figured out what to do?? This is really annoying and makes me regret buying this intensely. There needs to be a new firmware update to fix this issue asap, it wakes me up as well in the middle of the night as per others in this forum.

I've managed to fix it. Had been dealing with this problem for months. Initially nothing seemed to help. Not even any of the support I received from Nanoleaf itself.

Recently they've released a new firmware update. This is what I did:

I installed the new Firmware, be patient can take a while.
I unlinked Shapes from my Google Home.
    Unlinked Shapes from Nanoleaf App.
    I had hard-reset my device
Reinstalled the App after the firmware update.
    Relinked it to Nanoleaf
    Relinked it on Google Home

I haven't had the problem since (a few weeks now). It seems that the firmware update has fixed it, it's sad it had to take this long. I can't even guarantee it was the firmware :') but this is what worked for me.

I hope it works for others.

Same issue. Lights randomly turned themselves on / off. Brand new. Β£250 for these things. Already had one shape that had an issue with it. Why can't stuff just work!!
