Can I use a dimmer switch to control my Nanoleaf Essentials bulbs?Updated 2 years ago

The simple answer is no! Our Nanoleaf Essentials bulbs already have a dimming capability which is not designed to work with traditional wall dimmers. The two separate dimmer signals can clash and can cause the bulbs to flicker, buzz, or lose connectivity entirely. In extreme cases, dimming Essentials bulbs with a traditional dimmer can trigger a factory reset.

The simplest way to control the brightness of your bulbs is by using the Nanoleaf Smarter Series mobile app. It allows setting the brightness through a slider that can be moved gradually and dims or brightens the light immediately.

The bulbs can also be connected with HomeKit, Alexa, or and Google Assistant with which the brightness can be set via voice commands or through applicable smart home Apps.
