How do I sign up for beta software updates for my Nanoleaf lights?Updated a year ago

Anyone with a Nanoleaf account can opt-in to our public beta firmware programs through our forum. This allows your Nanoleaf lights to get access to new features and fixes available in the beta firmware updates, and helps us to gain valuable insights for firmware performance and stability ahead of the production release. Opt-in instructions as follows:

  1. Ensure you’ve created a Nanoleaf account and signed in on your mobile/desktop app(s)
  2. In a browser, navigate to the forum and log in with your Nanoleaf account
  3. Click “Allow” on the Nanoleaf Developer Forum permissions request
  4. Click “My Account” at the top right to open the dropdown, and then click “My Devices”
  5. You should see a list of all devices that are synced with your Nanoleaf account. Click the “Opt Into Beta” button next to any devices you want added to the public beta program.
  6. If beta updates are available, you should see them appear in the mobile/desktop app within 12 hours of opting in (note that updating Essentials devices is only supported on the mobile app at this time).

You can opt out at any time by clicking the "Opt out of Beta" button on the same page. After doing so, your device will be returned to the production channel and an update to the next production firmware version will become available when ready. Aside from special cases, we don't allow devices to be downgraded to avoid scenarios in which breaking changes could cause unexpected device behaviour.
