What are Scenes?

Scenes, in the context of the Nanoleaf Smarter Series app are an action of collection collection of actions which are performed on a device or multiple devices. These scenes are separated into 3 different sections: Colors, Rhythm and Groups.

Color scenes are animations that are displayed on the Light Panels, which are based purely on the colors selected. These Color scenes can take two forms:

• Static scenes – where each panel in the configuration displays a certain color which does not change; or,
• Dynamic scenes – where the colors move on the panels based on the transition type selected.

Rhythm scenes are animations which display on the Light Panels based on features from sounds or music in the environment. To execute Rhythm scenes, the Light Panels require a Rhythm module to be plugged in; this allows the processing of sounds to be visualized on the panels. Depending on the Rhythm scene selected, the panels will respond based on sound frequencies, volume or beats.

Group scenes are used to change the state of multiple lights are changed at the same time. For example, if you had 2 Ivy bulbs and 2 sets of Light Panels, you could create a group scene which could turn the bulbs on to a specific brightness and set one set Light Panels to execute a color scene like Northern Lights and the other set of Light Panels to execute a Rhythm scene like Meteor Shower (provided this has the Rhythm module attached). These group scenes, thus allow for easy customization of multiple devices.

How do I create my own Scenes?

Creating scenes is dependent on the type of scene to create. A step by step guide of each scene type is shown below:

1. Tap the plus icon in the bottom right and select the type of scene you would like to create.
   1. With Color scenes, you will be brought to the section displaying the panel layout. You can select the palette that you would like to use to paint the panels. This will allow you to create a static scene. For a dynamic scene, you must also pick a palette of colours and then select the type of movement as well as the associated options.
   2. For Rhythm scenes, select the palette and the type of movement

How do I edit Scenes?

Begin by swiping left or long pressing on the scene that you would like to edit. From there, tap the edit button (with the pencil) in order to edit the scene. Please note that you need to be connected to the same Wifi network as the Panels in order to edit a scene.

How to delete Scenes?

Begin by swiping left or long pressing on the scene that you would like to delete. Then select the delete button. Please note that you need to be connected to the same Wifi network as the Panels in order to delete a scene.
